Updates from Caleb! 12/3/2025

Two quick notes before Caleb’s message:

  1. Thursday’s concert is SOLD OUT! Great job everyone! Plenty of tickets available on Friday.
  2. The Dec 11 dress rehearsal has been CANCELLED due to a scheduling conflict at Lakota. On Dec 14, arrive at Middletown HS ready to sing at 1:30.

Hi Everyone,

FANTASTIC rehearsal this evening! You all continue to impress me with your commitment and positive effort towards presenting the best possible performance. With that in mind, I wanted to give an update on memorization. From the beginning, memorization has served two purposes. The first is you internalize the music and are able to watch for cues from the conductor. The second, and equally important, reason is to connect to the audience and each other, allowing for a higher quality and more memorable performance. What memorization should NOT do, is give us anxiety and hesitation. With that being said, we are going to make the following changes to the set list.

(Concert order – * should be memorized)
*Gaudete
I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm
Glow
Hanerot Halalu
*Nutcracker Jingles
Season of Light
Adoramus Te
*Theme from Elf
*Snow Miser/Heat Miser
*The Road Home
Precious Lord (on book)
We wish you a merry Christmas (on book)

I believe that with these changes, we will put out a higher quality performance. You are ALWAYS encouraged to look up and connect with each other, me, and the audience. This is true for EVERY song in our repertoire. Sing musically. Sing confidently. And remember why we sing!

See you Thursday!
Caleb Orr
