Updates – Oct 27, 2025

Hey~  Let’s have some fun at rehearsal this week!  Costumes encouraged!

If you need to report an upcoming rehearsal absence, please let us know in THIS FORM.

 Director’s Notes

Hi Everyone!
I hope you are all starting off your weeks well! You will find my annotated PDF copy of The Road Home with all of the desired breath marks. This is how we will be singing it for the concert AND the Open Door Food Pantry Concert on Sunday.  Please make sure your music has these markings.  Jacob has more details below to share regarding the outreach concert on Sunday. As a reminder, we are performing (in order):
1. Season of Light
2. The Road Home
3. I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm

We will be having an (optional, but highly recommended) extra rehearsal on Tuesday, November 25th from 7-9pm at SPC. I’d like to offer this so that we don’t go two weeks without rehearsing before concert week!

We will be finishing off auditions in the next two weeks. Please let me know if you have not already signed up, and I will get you added asap.

Deidre, our coordinator for Italy, is sending out the information for our new extension option. I will need to know as soon as possible if you would like to change your plans from your original selection. If I do not hear from you, I will keep your booking the same.

See you on Thursday!

Caleb

 Nov 2 Concert

This concert is for the Open Door Food Pantry, a food pantry in the city of Hamilton. They provide many Hamilton residents with much needed nourishment in times of need. The concert will begin at 3pm and run roughly an hour and a half long. SCS will have about 15-ish minutes of warmup time in the space starting at 2pm.

The order the groups will go in will be:
1. Butler Philharmonic
2. Sycamore Community Singers*
3. The Presby Choir
4. The Oxford Ramblers (bluegrass)
5. The Presby Praise Band

The purpose of this concert is to raise funds for the pantry, and collection bowls will be passed around during the concert. They have other avenues of donation and members can read about those and contact the pantry through their website: https://www.opendoorfoodpantry.org/  Additionally, some members mentioned wanting to bring canned goods donations for the pantry. That is not the purpose of this concert, but the church has arranged a spot for people to bring any extra goods to donate if they so desire.
Thanks!
Sincerely,
Jacob Threadgill

A Reception

Larry Stockdale is retiring from SPC at the end of November. He has been so helpful to SCS during the past 10 years, opening up the church, cleaning, collecting our leftover water bottles, and closing up as well as working the nights of our concerts. We are planning a thank you reception for Larry Stockdale on November 13 from 6pm-7pm. Susan Crabill will be sending out a sign up form for snacks to be provided. Don Stuart will be collecting donations for a cash gift for Larry. You can also Venmo donations for Larry to @Lorie_Stuart.

 POST-CONCERT PARTY!!!

Please fill out THIS FORM by Nov 20, so Rosenbergs can get a good head-count for food!!!  They generously open their home AND provide the food for this much-loved event!
