Weekly Email 3/4/2025

Hi Everyone,

We will be in combined rehearsal to begin our rehearsal this week. We are going to review “You Are Light”, “Dream On”, and “It Takes A Village”. If time allows, I’d also like to get some sectional time on the Guys and Girls pieces.

Here is the Road map for “I Will Sing”:
Sing from the beginning to p. 10, m.60 (D.S. al Coda)
Go back to “the sign”   at m.27 (p.6)
After m.46 on p.8 (“To Coda”) jump to p. 11, m.61 (  CODA)
Repeat mm.63-70 once (sing these measures two times total)
Sing to Fake Ending on m.94 (p.15)
Repeat mm.95-98 4 times
Repeat mm.95-96 1 more time
Back to m.88 (p.14) (Sopranos and Altos come in on Downbeat of “Sing”)
Sing to Fake Ending (m.94) but this time it’s real!

Put another way, sing the measures in this order:
7-60 / 27-46 / 61-70 / 63-98 / 95-98 / 95-98 / 95-98 / 95-96 / 88-94

We will go over this again in the coming weeks!

Please indicate your availability to sing with the Harmony Project on Thursday, May 1st in Columbus. Please fill out THIS FORM.I have also attached the information PDF that the Harmony Project sent out. I need to know either way so please fill out the form asap!

As always, please let me know if you have any questions. See you soon!

SPC OUTREACH:  This was posted a while ago as a one-time event, however, it is ongoing!  Sycamore Presbyterian Church has a community outreach to Symmes Elementary and Loveland Elementary that prepares bags of non-perishable food for needy kids.  From the SPC website:  Blessing Bags Program – A weekly pantry program that delivers bags of shelf stable breakfast and lunch to select low income schools. Pantry items are donated and then packed the first Sunday of every month by members of the Congregation after service.

If you feel so led, pick up some items while shopping and bring them to rehearsal.  There are bins under the SERVE sign in the lobby for donations to be placed.  A small cost for SCS members that would do much to help strengthen the relationship between SCS and Sycamore Presbyterian.  The attached photo lists suggested items to donate.

Questions about this program can be answered by SPC/SCS members Don and Lorie Stuart, Jill Yust, or Bob Young.  Julie Ferron is the school nurse at Symmes Elementary and may also lend additional information about the needs.

SHEET MUSIC  With the exception of a few copies of Dream On, everyone should have ALL of their sheet music for the semester.  Attached is the repertoire list for you to cross reference. If anyone is missing selections, see PEGGY Thursday night prior to rehearsal in the vestibule (She’s usually there by 6:30), or email her (theplatzfamily@gmail.com) to pick up in advance!

Have an upcoming schedule conflict?  Please let us know through this form.  If you have a last-minute need to miss rehearsal, it is better to communicate directly with your section’s attendance taker.
